Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Obsessions And Compulsions Psychology

Is obsessive compulsive disorder curable?

In a word, yes. Despite what you may have heard from wherever you heard it, you can cure obsessive compulsive disorder. The reason that I know this is because I have cured it in myself and in my clients. I've seen the proof first hand. One of the major reasons why people don't cure their OCD is because they don't believe they can.

You see, you have to first believe that you can do something before you can actually do it. You've got to have enough faith in yourself that you can achieve whatever you put your mind to. The problem is that people too often blindly take the word of other people as law. You cannot and should not do that! You should have an inquiring mind and ask questions for yourself.

Question what others tell you, question what I tell you! You seriously should explore knowledge about something for yourself before you blindly listen to others just because they have some initials after their name. One of my clients have told me that her therapist said that she was crazy in a past life and that is why she is suffering with OCD today!

Where did this therapist get her license? Seriously! The fact remains that therapists are not trained to help people get rid of obsessive compulsive disorder. In fact most of them never had it. A lot of doctors are limited likewise because they are only legally able to suggest drugs to you.

I once asked a pharmacist what vitamins, which were located next to the pharmacy station I should take and he said that he legally could not suggest for me to take any of them! So you see that just because someone says that there isn't a cure, it doesn't mean that there isn't a cure! Thank God that I did not listen to these "experts!"

I did my own studying and I found out that there are a small amount of people teaching how to get rid of OCD for good. Not just people like me with no "credentials" but doctors and therapists. Not all doctors are the same and not all therapists are the same. Some are the "renegades" so to speak and actually think for themselves.

These people have been working to help people with anxiety and OCD without using medicine unless absolutely necessary and they teach that it can be cured! You likely won't find them very easily and that's ok. The fact that you have read this article shows me that you are serious about getting rid of your OCD for good. I congratulate you for taking this initiative to do something about your condition.

I know that if you think for yourself and stick to the teaching of us, the "renegades" so to speak, you will realize just how curable OCD really is! I'm living proof! So do your due diligence, dig around and find information that you can connect with and find someone who will show you the way!

Compulsive Disorder - Why Do We Need Routines?

Substance Abuse In The Workplace

How it can help with the treatment of patients so they will not get addicted again? Having friends and family, and even if you are the doctor of such a patient who is going through the addiction, you should help him in a simple way. Even simple exercising can help them get out of it because they will use their energies in something positive. When they are in need and couldn’t control themselves, you can simply give them pain killer to help them relax.

You only have to drive 20 yards down the road before you come across a teenager either talking on their mobile or texting and downloading information from another world onto their latest mobile gadget. There's an app for this and there's an app for that. You will struggle to find a teenager who will leave home without their mobile or cell phone, whatever you wish to call it, and you will struggle even further to find a teenager who does not own a mobile phone.

Texting has become a frightening obsession for many young people and has seemingly become their primary means of communication with their friends and even family. They live in a world where everything has to be relayed instantly and without the need to raise a voice or look someone in the eye.

Two teenagers in the same room, the same class, the same train will think nothing of sending one another a text to let each other know how they are feeling, where to meet or what they did the night before - not giving a it a second thought that they could just as easily greet one another with a friendly smile and speak to each other.

It has become socially unacceptable for teenagers not to own a mobile phone. They communicate with one another on a level that has created a sub culture and a language which can only be understood by them. Having said that, twenty or so years ago, teenagers had their own sub language in the spoken form anyway because teenagers need to set themselves apart from their elders and exist in a world which is exclusive to them.

Now, even text language has evolved and divided into sub languages over the last ten years. What was once 'cool' to type on text or email is now just 'so last year' and it has moved on. There are levels of texting within texting and it has developed into its own language with its own etiquette.

Levels of literacy and numeracy are reportedly poor in teens. You don't need statistics to point out these facts - you need only spend a few hours with a group of teenagers to realise that they place importance on other things. Whilst able to design a perfect power point presentation with spectacular graphics, using a pre-packaged suite on a well-known platform, teens seem unable to find the time to check their work for such things as spelling, grammar and so on. The basics are most definitely dead. With so many people arguing that there is no longer a need for a person to be able to spell for themselves because of spell checkers and predictive text, it seems that teenagers continue in ignorant bliss as to the detrimental effects that texting is having on them and the long term effects of society. We are even breeding a generation of teachers who aren't able to correct their pupils' work because they often don't know any different either.

Using text language means that teenagers are losing their ability to communicate effectively and articulately with others of all age groups and retain information for any length of time because they are no longer required to. Why retain something that is at your predisposal on a saved artificial memory? Learning the basic skills of life in the forms of literacy, numeracy, communication and the art of social interaction seem to be less and less fashionable and worryingly considered less and less important. What a shame that it is only like to become worse before it becomes any better.

Smoking cessation is also a big task like any other type of addiction, so you have to majorly help the patient in it and never discourage them from getting away from addiction. You can even help them with simple words that motivate them towards the positive and leave addiction, which is in all cases a negative thing to practice. In this way, it becomes very easy for them to get rid of the bad habits.

There are so many other ways of helping such people, but you have to be patient with them in this case. Any type of forceful action can take them even deeper into the addiction problem, so you have to tackle this problem in a very sensible way. For doctors, it is an easy task because they know the protocols, but generally the friends and family must take good care of the situation if they know that the patient is going through the addiction phase.

Evolution of Mobile Phones

Addiction therapy includes the sessions that help the patient get away from any type of addiction they are facing. They are treated with medicines and with simple sitting sessions in which various types of exercises are done to help the patient get rid of the addiction. It is a simple protocol that the doctors follow. According to researchers, if it is done at the start and at the right time, it helps a person get rid of addiction as early as possible. Also, the therapy does not last very long if tackled at the start. So, keep the above benefits in mind too and get your addiction therapy done. You worth much better than just revolving around one thing in your life.

Primarily Obsessional Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

What is OCD?

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) affects approximately 2 - 3 % of Australians, and the same percentage worldwide. But unfortunately not a lot of people seek help as it is classed among society as an embarrassing disorder or disease.

OCD is classed as an anxiety disorder which carry with it Obsessions and Compulsions.

A person suffering OCD has something in their brain that tells them they must carry out certain tasks, rituals or behaviors or else something bad may occur. Carrying out the obsessions or compulsions might temporarily reduce the amount of anxiety they feel whilst the OCD is present.

However the anxiety starts building up again straight away..

Most OCD sufferers know that their brain thoughts are irrational and stupid, but the obsessions and compulsions are hard to resist and if resisted often lead to a sensation of sickness and also sever Anxiety.

(Please note, This site does not try and diagnose or treat any problems associated with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, It is just a site to inform and help people with this condition and people around this condition)

Symptoms Of OCD

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder affects people in different forms and to different degrees. However all people who suffer from OCD experience obsessions along with compulsions.

Obsessions are thoughts that are unwanted, depressing, disturbing, unnerving and intrusive. In which a person cannot control. Persistent fears of a particular thing and a seemingly overwhelming need to do things perfectly are common. A person suffering OCD will experience a distressing and anxiety based thought, such as, "will my computer turn back on?", "Did i lock the car?" or "Is something wrong with me?", and a feeling of compulsion will follow to act upon that.

Obsessive compulsions are repetitive, stressful, annoying, painful and upsetting, Some of the things people obsess and portray are;

* Concern with order, symmetry (balance) and exactness

* Cleaning

* Showering, Washing Hands

* Praying

* Starring at objects to make sure the object is ok, or off

Cause's Of OCD

The causes are supposebly not fully understood. Some people believe that obsessive-compulsive behavior is a psychological disorder. Whilst others that obsessive-compulsive behavior is caused by abnormalities in the brain.

I believe most OCD sufferers are incline to have this disorder due to genetic and hereditary factors.

However OCD is likely to be the result of several factors and is affected by stressful life events, and family history.
